The latest men’s squad published by the Mexican Football Federation contains 29 players for the September–October 2026 window. It is the documented starting point for examining whom Rafael Márquez assessed, not an announced squad for November’s quarterfinal against Jamaica.

Combining the Chivas and Guadalajara labels gives that club six players. Toluca contributes three, while Monterrey and Cruz Azul have two each. This count measures squad representation, not minutes played or standing within the national team. Players from the same club can have very different roles.

How to read the distribution

The table retains the position published by the federation for each player instead of assigning a new tactical role. Broad labels such as midfielder can cover very different responsibilities. Reading the name alongside the role is more useful than treating every player in a positional group as interchangeable.

After the Chile match, Márquez said the window had been used to assess younger players before competitive fixtures. The next squad will provide a practical comparison: which selections continue, what responsibilities they receive and whether a coherent structure survives changes in personnel. An extended list allows experimentation; a knockout tie requires choices.

For supporters, useful monitoring begins at club level. Regular involvement, confirmed availability and the position a player actually occupies help explain later national-team decisions. Counting overseas players alone does not establish squad quality. Nor does an omission prove an injury without a medical report. Inclusion in the October group does not guarantee a November starting place.

Evovo’s Mexico men’s center displays the available official squad with player photographs and club badges. This article preserves the October snapshot as a comparison point for the next announcement: who remains, who arrives and which positions change. Fixtures and squad selections are related information, but they need separate updates. Keeping that distinction clear avoids circulating an old list as if it were a new call-up.
