Saros received the Zenith update on 19 in October at PS5, at no additional cost to those who own the game. Housemarque expanded the options for adjusting combat and added challenges for those who have already finished the adventure: it is now possible to slow down the action, activate automatic fire, or explore Carcosa again with more demanding rules.

More time to react, without removing projectiles

The Slow Game Speed option lets you choose how much to slow things down and whether it activates automatically during combat or manually. Housemarque’s aim is to keep the attacks and their projectiles while giving players more time to recognize them and decide whether to jump, dodge, block, or counterattack.

Automatic fire shoots when you aim at an enemy, but it does not automate reloading: executing a perfect reload still requires pressing the button at the right moment. Motion-sensor aiming is also arriving, adding to the button remapping already available.

Zenith adds 10 protection modifiers and 10 trial modifiers. The former include one that consumes accumulated Corruption to boost a melee attack. Among the challenges, Hostile Regeneration lets certain large enemies recover quickly after being stunned and requires players to finish them off with a melee attack.

What comes after finishing the adventure

Eclipse Layers is the new New Game+ mode. After completing Saros, nodes appear in the Armor Matrix that let players progress through more intense versions of the game. To start each layer, players must reach a modifier threshold by choosing which trials to combine. In these runs, Arjun wears a crown that grows with the challenge and lets players discover the narrative content of 12 new visions.

The other addition is Overlord Rush, accessible from the Primary Unit in Passage. Its Incursion and Ascension sets each feature three bosses and are designed to be completed in about 10 minutes; Totality pits the player against all eight Overlords consecutively.

This mode includes leaderboards and filters by primary weapon for comparing scores. Features for competing with other players require an internet connection and a PlayStation account.
