Apple announced a new event for October 28 in Los Angeles, its second product event of the month. The announcement adds another date to the company’s calendar after its presentation focused on the connected home, although it has not yet confirmed which devices it will show.
The event is called “Pro and Tell” and will bring together journalists and content creators in person. Greg Joswiak, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing, accompanied the announcement with a message on X that plays on the word “Pro,” without detailing a list of new products.
That hint has drawn attention to the MacBook Pro lineup, but it does not amount to confirmation of a new computer. For now, the official event information also does not say that it will take the form of a traditional livestreamed presentation. For those who want to follow it remotely, no livestream has been confirmed yet.
An event distinct from the connected-home presentation
The new event comes after “Welcome home,” held on October 13. At that presentation, Apple showed HomeView, its screen-equipped device for managing the home, as well as a refreshed Apple TV 4K and a second-generation HomePod mini. The event on day 28 is a separate event, not a repeat of those announcements.
The distinction matters for people considering buying an Apple computer or tablet: there is an upcoming date to learn about the company’s announcements, but the invitation alone is not enough to assume a specific product refresh. It also does not establish features, prices, or release dates for new devices. The firm detail is the event on October 28; Apple’s lineup for Los Angeles has not yet been officially announced.
