The Tampa Bay Rays defeated the Cleveland Guardians in Game 4 to even the American League Championship Series at 2-2. Jonathan Aranda drove in two runs in the win at Progressive Field, a contribution from the Mexican player that helped keep Tampa Bay in the hunt for a spot in the World Series.

The series had progressed without either team winning consecutive games: Cleveland took Games 1 and 3, while Tampa Bay responded in the second and fourth games. Thus, the Rays restored the tie at the Guardians’ home after entering that game trailing 2-1.

Aranda’s contribution was part of Tampa Bay’s offensive response in the fourth game. With that result, both clubs were two wins away from the American League championship and a berth in the World Series.
