Cruz Azul defeated FC Juárez by 5-0 this Saturday at Estadio Banorte, on Matchday 12 of the Liga BBVA MX Apertura 2026. La Máquina put the win on track with three goals before halftime and ended the night with Rogelio González’s first goal in the First Division.

Joel Huiqui’s team spread the scoring among five players: Andrés Montaño, Carlos Rodríguez, Omar Campos, Agustín Palavecino, and González. That variety allowed them to extend the lead in both halves, while Bravos failed to pull one back.

Three goals to take control before halftime

Montaño opened the scoring with a shot inside the box after a pass from Palavecino. The midfielder was in the starting lineup and responded with the first goal of a night in which Cruz Azul quickly found a way past Sebastián Jurado.

Carlos Rodríguez extended the lead with a right-footed finish inside the box, capping a team move. Before the first half ended, Omar Campos added the third. The Celestes thus went into halftime with a comfortable lead, leaving Juárez needing to find a response.

The visitors’ response did not change the course of the match. In the second half, Palavecino again had a direct hand in the scoring, this time as a goalscorer: a right-footed shot from the right side of the box made it 4-0 and extended the lead.

The match ended with a special figure in the spotlight. Rogelio González came on for Alan Mozo in the second half and made the most of his minutes with a right-footed shot from outside the box. His first Liga MX goal also set the final 5-0, after the other four goals had been shared among players who started the match.
