U2 will headline the halftime show at the game between the Green Bay Packers and Los Angeles Rams on Wednesday, 25 of November, at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California. The announcement brings together the Irish band and a scheduling first: it will be the first NFL game scheduled for the eve of Thanksgiving.
Netflix will air the game, in which the Rams will host Green Bay. The musical performance will be part of that same broadcast, giving the game an added draw for those who follow the band, beyond the sporting matchup.
A return to the NFL stage
U2’s most significant previous appearance with the league dates back to Super Bowl XXXVI, in February 2002. That performance paid tribute to the victims of the September 11 attacks of 2001 and included the songs “Beautiful Day,” “MLK,” and “Where the Streets Have No Name.”
During that show, Bono wore a jacket whose lining displayed the US flag. Almost 25 years later, the group will return to an NFL halftime show, though this time it will be during a regular-season game rather than the championship game.
The new appearance also coincides with 50 years since U2 was formed in Dublin, in 1976. Bono, The Edge, Adam Clayton, and Larry Mullen Jr. make up the group that will bring its music to the Rams’ stadium.
Music to expand the November schedule
U2’s selection continues Netflix’s effort to pair its football broadcasts with musical performances. Beyoncé headlined the halftime show during one of its Christmas games in 2024, while Snoop Dogg took part in its Christmas programming in 2025.
The Packers–Rams game will open an additional day of action ahead of the traditional Thanksgiving Thursday schedule. For viewers, the confirmed date is 25 of November: an NFL game and a U2 performance in the same broadcast.
