Chivas rescued an 1-1 draw against Atlas at Estadio Jalisco with a goal by Ángel Sepúlveda in the 84 minute. The result in Matchday 11 of the Apertura 2026 left Guadalajara with 19 points, after a late finish in which its striker found the equalizer after missing a penalty.

Kevin Zenón put the Rojinegros ahead in the 51, finishing a counterattack against Raúl Rangel. Chivas had a chance to equalize in the 74 from the 11-yard spot, but Camilo Vargas saved Sepúlveda’s powerful, low shot across goal.

Ten minutes later, the Rojiblanco attacker found himself one-on-one with the goalkeeper again. The ball fell to him inside the box, and this time he finished past Vargas as he came off his line to set the final score.

Guadalajara had already threatened before halftime, with a header by Luis Rey that Vargas managed to tip away and a finish by Ricardo Marín that was ruled out for an earlier offside. Gabriel Milito’s team also handed Leonel Calderón his debut in the starting lineup.

Diego Campillo made way for Carlos Hernández at halftime, while Kevin Castañeda, who came on in the 65, was sent off in the 97. Chivas’ next match will be against Tigres on Saturday, 17 October, at Estadio Akron, in Matchday 12.
