Cruz Azul Hidalgo defeated Dorados 3-1 on Matchday 12 of the Apertura 2026 in Liga de Expansión. The result gave the team its second win of the tournament and, according to the club’s assessment, its first road victory in the competition.

Bryan Gamboa was key to building the lead before halftime. In the 6 minute, he opened the scoring with a header following a cross from Diego Valdez Zuppa; in the 39 minute, he won the ball back and sent in a diagonal pass that Emmanuel Sánchez converted in the 2-0 minute with a finish at the far post.

Dorados cut the deficit in the 63 minute with a goal from Fernando González. The one-goal difference held until stoppage time, when Jared Valdivia received a pass from Sergio de los Ríos, rounded the goalkeeper and made it 3-1 to 90+2. Valdivia had come on as a substitute for Zuppa in the 59 minute.

The win did not change Cruz Azul Hidalgo’s position: the standings snapshot published by the club keeps it in 15 place, now with 11 points. Dorados was in 12 place with 13 points.

After two consecutive away games, the Celeste team will return to Ciudad Cooperativa to host Mineros de Zacatecas on Saturday, 17 October. Dorados will play a day earlier, on Friday, 16, away against Correcaminos.
