Marvel arrived at New York Comic Con 2026 with a schedule that puts Midnight Universe, its horror comics line, in the spotlight. The official program brings together Midnight Spider-Man, Midnight Fantastic Four and Midnight X-Men in the panel The Midnight Hour. The convention runs from October 8 to 11 at the Javits Center in New York.

The announcement is notable for more than the names of three collections: it opens up a different way to use familiar characters in a publishing initiative with its own tone. It does not amount to an announcement of new movies based on those titles, nor does it mean that what happens in the comics can automatically be carried over to Marvel’s audiovisual productions.

What’s behind Midnight Universe

Friday’s schedule includes a conversation with the creators to showcase material and explain the direction of the line. The program also lists a signing beforehand at Midtown Comics with Benjamin Percy, Phillip Kennedy Johnson and Jonathan Hickman. These are publishing-related events tied to the new initiative, not a list of movie releases.

When picking up a series, check the issue number, its creators and which edition is available in Mexico. A shared name across different Spider-Man series does not make their stories interchangeable. The listings for each comic are the reference for finding out where to start reading and which issues are part of the same continuity.

A new editorial direction in the spotlight

Stephen Wacker appears in Bullpen Bulletins as Marvel Comics’ new editor-in-chief. The panel is set up to discuss the company’s editorial future. His presence adds to the appeal of a convention featuring announcements about collections, meetings with creators, and materials from television and film projects.

This mix can lead to confusion when screenshots are shared without context. VisionQuest’s progress and materials from Avengers: Doomsday belong to other parts of the program; they are not evidence that Midnight Universe comics will immediately be adapted for the screen.

What to follow over the weekend

On Saturday the 10th, The Spider-Web is scheduled for 15:30 Eastern Time, equivalent to 13:30 in Mexico City. House of Ideas begins at 17:00 Eastern Time, or 15:00 in central Mexico. Those times are for convention panels and do not guarantee a public broadcast of each event.

The best way to follow announcements from Mexico is to check the information Marvel releases after the panels and compare it with the listings for its titles. A promise of reveals in the schedule does not mean all the details have already been confirmed. This coverage focuses on the schedule and the announced publishing line, without presenting rumors about event surprises as facts.
