Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection is coming to Xbox on PC on 18 November 2026 with Xbox Play Anywhere support, Xbox Wire announced. The third installment in this RPG series is already available on Xbox Series X|S, according to the company; the new development is its arrival in the PC ecosystem and the ability to continue the adventure across compatible devices.
What You Can Keep Between Console and PC
According to Xbox, Play Anywhere will let players play on Series X|S, Windows 11 computers, and compatible handheld devices without an additional cost for switching devices. Save data, add-on content, and achievements will travel with the player. For those who switch between console and computer, the announced benefit is being able to resume the same game rather than starting another adventure on each platform.
The announced availability applies to Xbox on PC; it is not confirmation that these features are available in every PC store. It also does not mean that every handheld device can run the game: Xbox specifies that devices must be compatible. The announcement does not detail the price in pesos or availability terms in Mexico, information that matters before deciding on a local purchase.
Turn-Based Battles and Ecosystem Restoration
Stories 3 features turn-based battles in the world of Monster Hunter. Its story follows the prince or princess of Azuria, the only Rathalos Rider in that country, and Eleanor, princess of Vermeil, on a journey into forbidden territory. The plot links the two nations to endangered species and the birth of two Rathalos bearing a mark associated with an ancient civil war.
In addition to the battles, Xbox describes Habitat Restoration as a feature for releasing monsters into the wild and changing the ecosystem rank. It also details a post-story challenge: with the game updated and a playthrough completed, players can face a more difficult version of the final boss. Defeating it unlocks the appearance of Royal variants of nearly all monsters, as well as other high-difficulty enemies.
The company also notes that Side Story: Rudy is now available. This downloadable content tells the origins of the royal Palico who accompanies the protagonist and is included in the Deluxe and Premium Deluxe editions, as well as the Deluxe Kit. According to the announcement, owners of any of these options can download it at no additional cost.
October Trials to Discover the Series
The announcement coincides with the tenth anniversary of Monster Hunter Stories, celebrated on 8 October. As part of the commemoration, Xbox will offer three-hour trials of Monster Hunter Stories and Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin through Free Play Days, from 22 to 25 October 2026. According to the company, these trials do not require a Game Pass membership.
For those who want to try the third installment directly, Xbox notes that its current Series X|S version has a free demo whose progress can be transferred to the full game. This is a different option from the limited-time trials of the two earlier titles: players can start Stories 3 and keep that progress if they later purchase the full version, without waiting for the announced PC launch.
