Forza Horizon 6 now has a release date for PlayStation 5: the Standard and Deluxe editions will be available on January 26, 2027. The official announcement on October 8 also opened preorders and confirmed that the Premium Edition will provide access starting January 21. The difference matters when planning your purchase: not all versions will let you start playing on the same day.
The driving adventure set in Japan is already available on Xbox Series X|S and PC, according to the official website. Panic Button is handling the PS5 port in collaboration with Playground Games and Turn 10 Studios. Both 3DJuegos and VidaExtra reported the new date and the arrival of an expansion that will also be available to players on other platforms.
Two dates and three editions for PS5
Standard includes the base game; Deluxe adds the Welcome Pack and Car Pass. Premium adds, among other content, VIP Membership, the Time Attack and Italian Passion packs, and two expansions. The first is confirmed for January, while the second will arrive later, with no date announced in the official announcement.
There is an important distinction between the Premium Edition and Premium Upgrade: the latter is an add-on that requires owning the base game, sold separately. It lets you upgrade Standard or Deluxe with Premium content and also includes early access on PS5. So it should not be mistaken for a fourth edition that includes the full game on its own.
Preorders for any PS5 edition include a pre-tuned Ferrari J50, but the car will be added to your garage after you complete the prologue. A disc version at participating retailers is also confirmed. The announcement does not specify prices in Mexican pesos or physical stores in Mexico, so it is not yet possible to determine how much each option will cost here.
What you can share with Xbox and Steam
The PS5 version will have cross-play and cross-save with Xbox and Steam. These are different features: the first lets you play across platforms, while the second lets you continue your progress when switching systems. The announcement confirms both, although it does not explain the linking process or the conditions for transferring a save in its statement.
Community-created content will also be cross-platform. Starting at launch, PS5 users will be able to access EventLab races, props, garages, properties, vehicle designs, and tuning setups. This means the new version will not launch with an isolated community catalog: it will share creations available on the other systems.
For graphics and performance, the official website features a trailer captured on a base PS5 using Quality mode at 4K and 30 frames per second, and confirms a Performance mode at 60 frames per second. It does not specify the resolution of the latter. These are announced features, not results from an independent test that would allow stability or visual differences to be assessed.
The expansion arrives before the general release
The first paid expansion will also launch on all platforms on January 21, 2027, coinciding with PS5 early access. It will be included at no extra cost for owners of the Premium Edition, Premium Upgrade, or Expansions Bundle, and will be available for purchase separately. For those already playing on Xbox or Steam, this is the announcement’s news item with its own confirmed date.
There will also be a free update for all players tied to the PS5 and expansion launches. The company has not yet described its content and promises to share more information closer to launch. The expansion’s theme is also not detailed here: the dates and ways to access both are confirmed, but the specific new content remains to be announced.
