Mexico will face Jamaica in the quarterfinals of the 2026/27 Concacaf Nations League. The confederation confirmed the first leg for Saturday, November 14, in Kingston and the second leg for Tuesday, November 17, in Monterrey. The series awards a place in the March finals and direct qualification to the 2027 Gold Cup.
For viewers in central Mexico, kickoff times are 19:00 on the 14th and 20:30 on the 17th. The time difference for the first match is due to Jamaica’s time zone: 20:00 local time in Kingston is equivalent to 19:00 in Mexico City.
First Kingston, then Monterrey
National Stadium will host the first match. The second leg is scheduled for Estadio Monterrey, the name Concacaf uses for the venue known as Estadio BBVA, in Guadalupe, Nuevo León. They are not two different stadiums.
The schedule ensures that Mexico will finish at home, but it does not determine the winner before the matches are played. The two games make up a single knockout tie: the first-leg score carries over to the second leg, and the second match’s implications also depend on the aggregate score.
The confirmed date and time help fans plan to follow the matches. They are not a squad announcement or a lineup. The available players, absences and decisions by Rafael Márquez will have to be confirmed in specific national team announcements, without treating October rumors as definitive absences for November.
Away goals do count in this series
Concacaf rules state that the team with more goals over the two matches advances. If the aggregate score is tied, the away-goals criterion applies. If the teams are still level, the regulations provide for extra time and, if necessary, penalties.
This rule makes where each goal is scored relevant. For example, a 1–1 draw in Kingston and a 0–0 draw in Monterrey would leave the aggregate tied, but Mexico would benefit from its away goal. This explains the criterion; it is not a prediction of the results.
This knockout tie should also not be confused with a series that starts from zero in the second leg. Winning the second match is not always enough to advance if the first-leg deficit is greater. The aggregate score and the official criteria must be considered together.
Two tournaments at stake
The four quarterfinal winners advance to the Nations League finals, scheduled for March 25–28, 2027, at SoFi Stadium in the Los Angeles area. They also earn a direct berth in the 2027 Gold Cup. The losing teams move on to the Gold Cup preliminaries: losing the series does not by itself eliminate all possibility of participating.
The other announced matchups are Canada–Guatemala, United States–Haiti and Panama–Curaçao. For Mexico, the immediate path is clear: a trip to Kingston, the second leg in Monterrey and a 180-minute knockout tie before thinking about the finals venue.
