LOS defeated FURIA 3–2 in the CBLOL second-split final and earned Brazil’s first seed for Worlds 2026. The win gives them direct entry to the League of Legends World Championship’s Swiss stage. FURIA has also qualified, but will begin in the Play-In.
After the final on Saturday, October 10, the draw was set: FURIA will face MVK Esports, and Cloud9 Kia will face Karmine Corp. The order of those two opening series had not been confirmed in the coverage reviewed; knowing the matchups does not mean assigning an individual start time to each match.
The Brazilian final settled the route, not the last spot
LOS won games one, three and five; FURIA answered in the second and fourth. The decision took all five maps and ended with the title going to LOS, a result announced by the CBLOL’s official channel after the series.
Both finalists had already secured a place at Worlds. What was decided was who would avoid the entry stage. Describing the match as a fight for the last spot would obscure the real consequence: LOS goes straight to the Swiss bracket, while FURIA must clear an additional hurdle.
One spot for four teams
The Play-In will run from October 15 to 18 at the Riot Games Arena in Los Angeles. It brings together FURIA, MVK, Cloud9 and Karmine Corp in a double-elimination bracket with best-of-five series. Only one team will advance to join the 15 teams with direct access to the next stage.
Losing the first series does not mean immediate elimination, because there is a lower bracket. A second loss does end a team’s run. Each win is counted by series, not by game: winning three maps in a best-of-five earns a bracket win.
Times to watch from Mexico
The official guide sets the Play-In’s daily start time at 11:00 U.S. Pacific Time, which during those dates is equivalent to 12:00 in Mexico City. A long series can push back the start of the next one, so that time applies to the competition block.
The Swiss stage will be played in Allen, Texas, from October 23 to 31. Teams will need three wins to advance and will be eliminated after three losses. The advancement or elimination series are best-of-three; the rest of the format should not be confused with the Play-In’s best-of-fives.
The quarterfinals and semifinals will also take place in Allen, before the final moves to Brooklyn on November 14. The final is scheduled for 13:00 Mexico City time. The conversion should take into account that the United States will have already ended daylight saving time.
The initial Swiss-stage draw is scheduled for October 18. This is a different event from the Play-In draw that has already taken place: the former must wait for the team that survives the entry stage.
