Bunbury has seven Mexican concerts on his October schedule: Puebla on the 10th, Mexico City on the 12th, 15th, 17th and 19th, and Guadalajara on the 21st and 23rd. The announced venues are Auditorio GNP Seguros, Auditorio Nacional and Auditorio Telmex, respectively. The run is part of the Nuevas Mutaciones Tour 2026.

The visit comes after De un Siglo Anterior, released on April 17. The musician himself presents it as the second album in an exploration of Hispanic and Latin American roots that began with Cuentas Pendientes, from 2025. Its connection to Mexico is also reflected in its making: the new work was recorded and mixed in Desierto de los Leones.

The recording took place before the release

The official announcement places the sessions in February 2025 and the mixing in August of that year, at Desierto Casa/Estudio. Bunbury and Ramón Gacías share production duties. Distinguishing those dates avoids confusing when the public received the album with the period when its songs took shape in the studio.

The musicians on the recording include guitarist Sebastián Aracena, double bassist Luri Molina and percussionist Johnny Molina, alongside the singer’s longtime collaborators. The instrumental lineup provides context for the search Bunbury describes; it is not an automatic list of who will appear at every tour date.

From the album to a band revisiting the catalog

The tour announcement describes a show that revisits his songbook with an expanded lineup. The announced instruments include violin, trombone, Spanish guitar, saxophone, accordion, piano and Hammond organ. This range opens the door to different arrangements, although the specific result can only be judged in performance.

The distinction between album and concert is important: a tour tied to a creative period does not have to reproduce the entire album or be limited to its songs. The official information says the repertoire will be revisited; it does not confirm a fixed set list for Puebla, Mexico City or Guadalajara on this page.

A run packed into two weeks

The four shows at Auditorio Nacional are not consecutive. The gaps between the 12th, 15th, 17th and 19th make it especially useful to check the exact ticket date before planning a trip. Guadalajara also has two nights, on the 21st and 23rd.

For a closer look at this period, the April album and its predecessor offer the most direct context for his interest in musical roots. The concert raises another question: how those songs coexist with a catalog spanning different eras. That relationship, rather than a promise of specific songs, is what the name Nuevas Mutaciones suggests.
